My friend was sick of her computer being so slow so she started hiting it real hard on the key board, the Laptop rebooted, but it wouldnt go further than a black screen containing the following info:

    CLIENT MAC ADDR: 00 C0 9F BA 91 FF GUID: 409EA75
    PXE-E53> No boot filename received

    PXE-M0F: Exiting PXE ROM.

Sounds like it's trying to boot from a network(PXE) try entering bios and set up the boot order. If setting to boot from the hard drive doesn't work check connections to the drive. If that doesn't solve it might have fried the hard drive by pounding on it.

My bet is on dead hard-drive, probably poor HDD had died because of excessive shocks while your friend was punching his laptop. It's the worst case scenario...

If that friend of yours is lucky enough then maybe HDD has jus lost connection with SATA/power connectors inside laptop. Open HDD drive bay and reseat HDD.

But I thing reseating HDD won't help, that will teach him not to be so hard on IT things. In 99% fault is above the front side of keyboard...
