Default 5670 Crossfire Blackscreen/Hard Crash During Games - 06-03-2012, 02:07 | posts: 4 | Location: Houston,Tx

Hi. Once a day, usually in the first game of the day, the game will freeze and go to a black screen. At that point, all I can do is hold the power button off for ten seconds to reboot the pc. Then I'll reboot the machine and be able to play fine for hours. I thought I'd post the issue online and see if one of you fine gents could help me pinpoint the problem. Below is a Dxdiag. I also ran an even log on Tribes:Ascend( what I play the most) and at the bottom it sais

Wow, way too much text...have you updated your drivers?

Disabling ulps also helps for some crossfire users.

I just recently did a driver sweep/install, which helped a lot of my stuttering issues I had with this game. What other information can I offer? Any help of course would be greatly appreciated. I've googled my balls off trying to find the answer. This always happens in the first 5 minutes of the game after I turn on the pc. After a crash and reboot it doesn't crash again.

I really do appreciate the replies. And I'm sorry for the wall of text from the diag. I'm trying to scrounge up all the information I can. I updated my specs in my profile details a little more. As far as any other details, I don't what else to say.

Power supply came with the alienware case. I've looked all over google trying to find the model. (yes i know, I'm a sucker for buying instead of building, but I have two kids and time is not a luxury I have anymore.) Is the only way to see the power supply to take it apart? Is there no utility that can tell me what it is?

open up the case and read the 12v rail in amps on the psu itself. it will be 12v+. no need to open the psu up lol
