You'd need to clean each one up one by one using PS, it's the spot healing brush tool that can remove / repair scratches and dirt like that, but it's a manual process

Gimp's healing brush works really well too.

Thanks for the kind remarks and suggestions guys!

i think i first will try this Gimp tool since its free. (and i dont own photoshop yet and its kinda pricey)
If its not to my liking ill go for photoshop though.

Anarion can you please tell me how do i use this healing brush ? I know how to select the tool, but i dont know how to apply it (since it has a cross when i move the mouse cursor over the image)

You picks the healing brush first. Then you hold down ctrl and select area nearby that looks right and then you start painting over the scratch/dust.

In some cases clone brush works well too.

My wife recently did something similar for her parents 25 year wedding anniversary. She used Adobe Photoshop and had to do each picture manually. It took hera good 3 weeks to edit all those photos, but it was worth it in the end. Good luck.

HDR doesn't mean to over expose everything and lose the dynamic range.
Anyway, love the photo. Since they are really a lot of them, you may give Lightroom a try.
It's got that library panel where you can see them all, and its healing brush (while similar to Photoshop's one) needs some less work. I think it's just a tad faster/easier for bulk stuff.

HDR is a clever way of using all the spectrum of light in a given photo, now usually I would take 3-4 pictures where one is where you focus on the darkest areas and get as much detail from that area, then I move to slightly more lit areas and finally to the most lit area, usually its the sun or reflection. Then I combine all pictures into one final picture. Gettings most detail from each one. It kinda looks odd in the beginning but then you start to appreciate them. If done properly you wont "really" notice, except its seems extremely sharp and crisp. :)

Now I use photoshop, and its great for restoring old photos, its really its strong suit.

Google tutorials on how to. Good luck.

Digital ice is horrid from the few times I have used it. Always messed up the photos for me worse then they were already messed up.
