Erm, 'scuse me clever people,

I've just got my shiny new PC, thinking that I'd get some pretty decent 3dM2k1 score, but unfortunately, without o/c'ing I can only get a max of 6011

Please could anyone make some suggestions to drastically improve the score, or should I settle for this (see sys spec below)?

Also, I've tried to install the latest VIA 4in1 jobbies, however As soon as is starts to install, the computer just freezes. I've tried using the same drivers from other reputable sites also, however the problem is still the same.

Please help me in my hour/day of need!

Also, why is my XP processor registering as 1.333ghz at startup, I thought it was a 1.5gig chip!

Cheers
Also, does anyone know anything about the ASUS v8200 GF3 Delux Card? I have one, and it comes with 3d glasses, but I'm not too sure how to get the '3d bit' working! Any thoughts?
Check the FSB options in the BIOS. When I got mine, it would only register 900mhz when I had purchased a 1.2ghz chip. I had to set my FSB from 100mhz to 133mhz. That should probably do the trick. I think you set it under advanced chipset features. Hope that helps

What it says in the bios is somewhat un-nerving. However wrong display of chip info isnt uncommon. Use a program called wcpuid (not 100% on spelling there). It should tell you the actual FSB, chip, running speed etc. You will find out if you are running at 1.5 or 1.3

It could be that you have your FSB set to 100Mhz. Also the ram maybe running at 100Mhz not 133Mhz because of the FSB or because it has been setup incorrectly. Again found in the bios.

Some auto settings of agp 1x 2x and 4x can put the card at 2x. You can force 4x in the bios. Also enable fast writes.

AGP mini driver updates are also very important. Almost as important as 4in1's.

6011 isnt a bad score. Hilbert got 63xx with a gf3ti. They are extremely fast and that was on a 1.2 t'bird. I reckon with the above points followed you could get 6500.
Only some oc'ing will get it much higher

The AthlonXP 1800+ is a 1.53GHz cpu, however, AMD want a motherboard to id the chip as its model number (ie 1800+) before it can make AMD's recommended mobo list.
when I built my system, at first my mobo would report the cpu as Athlon 4 1.53GHz, but then got the latest BIOS update from the manufacturer and then at startup it now registers as Athlon XP 1800+.

Look for BIOS updates for your mobo first, and if the cpu type/speed is still wrong, look for clock settings in BIOS or on jumpers on the board (refer to your manual for jumper location)

BTW, does windows id your cpu correctly?
