I was at Micro Center earlier today and saw this tv. They have it for $349.99 + tax. So the skeptic in me thinking this is too good to be true and something doesn't feel right about this tv. What do you all think? Here's the manufacturers page http://www.lg.com/us/tvs/lg-43UH6030-4k-uhd-tv Here are the specs: Includes 43UH6030 Ultra HDTV with remote control, 2 AAA batteries, stand, power cord, and manual; HDMI cable and app suite digital download 42.7" diagonal LED IPS display Ultra HD 3840x2160 resolution 4K resolution upscaler TruMotion 120Hz UHD Mastering Engine HDR Pro Tru Black panel Built-in Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct webOS 3.0 LG Smart TV: LG Content Store, Web browser, Magic Mobile Connection Smart Share: Screen Share, Content Share Two-channel speaker system with 20W audio output Dolby Digital, DTS M6 decoders Ultra Surround Mode Clear Voice VESA 200x200 wall-mountable SIMPLINK HDMI-CEC USB port Three HDMI/HDCP inputs RF, composite/component, ethernet, optical, RS-232C ports Approximate measurements: With stand 38-3/8"W x 24-7/8"H x 8-5/8"D, weighs 19.8 lbs; Without stand 38-3/8"W x 23"H x 3-1/4"D, weighs 19.2 lbs UL listed; 1-year Limited Manufacturer's Warranty Imported
That price for an LG 43" 4k.....nice, it may trickery to simulate refresh rate....but most do these days, i`d rather get a 40+" 4k tv than a small 27" 4k monitor for double the price.
if you do get it make sure you disable TruMotion as its horrendous. It dims the screen on a lot of TV's to point you can barely see the picture, it adds insane amounts of input latency, it does have motion blur no matter what they say, it also adds a lot of stutter to the image as well. Basically it just processes each frame, takes data from both past frames and displays a second frame. Meaning 60Hz becomes 120Hz.
If you plan to use it for a PC at all for 4K usage, be aware that most cheaper 4K sets can only do 4k @ 30hz for a PC. May want to look into that. Otherwise it seems like a pretty fair deal. For comparison, I got a 43" "open box" Vizio 4K unit 10 months ago for $389. This one is capable of 4K@60hz on HDMI port 5, kind of an upper scale cheapie. Also, with "Black Friday" and other Holiday deals coming, you might peek around a bit before pulling the trigger.
Only thing with the VIZIO is none of their TV's do 4:4:4. Phaze LG tv's tend to have horrid input lag. At that size I would look at the Sony 43X800D. 4K @60hz 4:4:4 HDR at 33ms input lag. It's at $598 on Amazon.
Here is a review on that same TV , the model numbers vary depending the seller retailer store ( eg. MC and BJs might call it uh6030 , same model is called uh6100 if it's sold at the Dell store , costco and so on ... ) - http://www.avsforum.com/forum/166-lcd-flat-panel-displays/2602145-lg-4k-uh6030-series.html http://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/lg/uh6100 It's got mixed reviews , and you can find it cheaper at $299US Dollars here and other places https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1268777-REG/lg_43uh6030_uh6030_series_43_class_uhd_smart.html Are you using this TV as a monitor , playing PC games or for watching movies and sports ? I recently bought the LG UH8500 65 inch, which is a rather high end set. I was extremely disappointed with it. It uses an IPS display, so the brightness and black levels are quite crap. HDR was so dim it wasn't even worth it. I've replaced it with the Samsung KS8500 65 inch curved TV and it's like a next-gen display compared to the LG. If I were you, I would seriously consider looking for a Samsung in a similar price range. They have the lowest input lag and the picture quality is just incredible.
Lower end Samsung's do however tend to have very pronounced jutter. It really tends to be what do you want from the set and what kind of usage do you intend it for. If not using the set for a PC monitor or 4k HDR gaming then I would suggest the Vizio M line all day. The prices on these are great and offer the same viewing experience you get from the Samsung and LG counterparts. I would only go LG if I wanted OLED all their lower end TV's are sub par. Sony TV's are more of a, "Jack of all trades, master of none" TV, but they use Android for their smart OS (which allows you kodi to be installed). Samsung TV's are all around good but over priced most of the time.
I want to buy this Samsung UE43KU6079UXZG but I searched and could not find a clear answer for how is the Input lag at 4k with HDR enabled. This apparently is kinda the same with the US KU6300 version which has a really good input lag at 4K HDR. Here are some tests for 4k hdr input lags: http://www.rtings.com/tv/tests/inputs/input-lag#comparison_545 I can buy this at 500 Euros now from Amazon.de Any ideas?
Samsung usually has really good input lag. This is a stripped down model that is done for look at me prices. I can't find any info on the panel. I can without a doubt garantee jutter in 24hz material (AKA bluray)
Very nice for that price, hook that up to your PC and have a ball going through your Pc collection to see all the games in 4k, i am loving it, but be warned, once that 4k genie is out the bottle you cannot put it back in again. lol I am actually going to take my 43in 4k and use it to replace my aging PC monitor, and buy say a 50/55 in 4k as the bedroom one, i am sold now on the 4k display. ha
mine is really good, maybe cheaper now, and full chroma 4:4:4 LG 40UF77OV 40'' - 4k However, me that is, feel 40'' a tad too small for 4k By the way 43UH6030 look good as well - is that true 120hz ? TruMotion 120Hz thats a gimmick
Samsung KU6400 has 20ms input lag, quiet impressive if you ask me. With my monitor i usually sit at 15-20ms as well.
