Considering my next monitor upgrade, I will be looking at 4K. So this along with whatever Nvidia has, one of which will be replacing my Classifieds. Can't wait for these next series of cards to hit the market.
Interesting. I wonder how true the statement is optimized for 4k and beyond is? Is this for 1 card or would you need more than 1.?
I guess if the 'normal' 390X might have a hybrid cooling sollution, this might be the full block type of 390X.
Nothing new here: they need a water cooler to compete in noise & heat and even their driver installer has typos too, so...
Having 4 of these and 10kW airconditioner in subsaharan Africa, imagine the dilemma: Feed both my and the neighboring village or play Witcher 3..hmmm Luckily it will be available by the end of summer.
Yes, because those additional 25Watts this 390x eats over Titan X require water cooling solution. It is what customers in this segment want, and AMD is gonna deliver that cooling. Cool n' Quiet! On side note, I believe this card will have quite different heat distribution than those in past as HBM are not power hungry and all those freed Watts are spent on GPU. (Still easy for accelero type of cooling.) And quite surprising form factor may come too.
If AMD just were solid and stable with driver support i would buy or get any AMD card over Nvidia, but in reality its just isnt
4Gb aint enough I hope they really do put 8gb on the next generation of cards as 4gb isn't enough for 4k gaming, games like evolve and assassins cread unity will use well over 4gb with details turned up at 4k.
Yeah, AMD should add to driver installer option to reset all settings to default. Because once user f**ks up something badly it will become persistent over driver installations. That is why once basic advices fails there is magic solution with DDU. Applies both AMD and nVidia users.
It will definitively pack a heavy punch. Most likely 512 memory bit bus with HBM memory which will be giving a huge boost in FPS @ 1440p and higher.
ultra-high bandwidth HBM video memory = ultra-high bandwidth high bandwidth memory video memory? Holy crap! That is some serious bandwidth memory video memory vram!!
