In sight of summer I tested the cooling system of my gtx 570 trying to find a setting not too loud but effective in containing the incoming heat (I live in Italy and here the temperature can reach more than 35 Celsius degrees).

I wonder however if it can be dangerous to switch from the automatic setting of the fan to the manual one with utilities as Msi Afterburner or Vtune.

It is possible that a fan set to high or maximum rpm risks failures or lasts quite less than one always set at stock settings?

Or it is simply impossible to damage a fan just raising up the rpm?

    Thanks.
