I have a question. I am thinking of getting a new card. Since 7900's are just around the corner, it might be a good chance to get a cheap 6950 or 6970. Before I choose between AMD or Nvidia I would like to know if I can use a Xfire array with my old and new card, and if it's worth it.

If yes, that's one extra point towards staying with AMD.

    you cant mix gpu series.

if you have hd5000 you cant crossfire it with a hd6000 gpu.

if you use a board that runs the lucid hydra chipset, you can run a-mode fusion to use a 5770 and a 6950 together. but there wouldnt be much of a performance improvement, if any at all.
