the reviews dont turn down god rays or anything else, they also dont state what driver they are using.game runs great on my 7950 boost on high settings and god rays on medium

That game engine is so bad... It's no where near as good looking as witcher 3 no where near as populated as witcher 3 maps. And yet it requires godly rig.

Some effects have no real change from low to ultra. They should really abandon gamebryo derivative called creation engine, hire new animators and above all else new writers.

    lmfao @ the performance pfft.

guessing where i am going to play it at cause i aint buying it lol
think i will stick to 1080p on my 55" 4k tv and play with a controller :D that way i can sqeeze every frame i can get hahaha

that is until amd/ati release optimized fallout 4 drivers with crossfire enabled
and if they can get at least 30% more performance out of the game on my hardware i will then consider buying the game, until then not a chance in hell even if the guy is awesome, no way im playing a stutterfest/lowframes crud.

I know it doesn't run great but I've been playing it just fine.

Witcher 3 isn't a post apocalyptic death zone. Drop a hydrogen bomb on Temaria and tell me how great Geralt and his pals are doing population wise.

Hire new writers? Ok man, it is obvious you just don't like the game. Enough said.

Really? Last time i checked PhysX Effects didn'T work on AMD as long as the Effects are GPU-Accelerated.

    That benchmark is @@@@@
    I have 50-60 fps on ultra 1080p.
Never saw it lower than 50fps

    For the best CrossFire scaling:

    -> Crysis 3 profile
-> Disable volumetric lightning and God Rays in the settings menu and the .ini files. CrossFire doesn't like these (gameworks) features at all. The best you can get with these features enabled is a 60/60 scaling.
-> Do not enable TAA. The scaling will still be alot better, but i has a huge performance impact in CrossFire mode and you will have alot of stutter.
-> Ambient occlusion will still be buged, so you can either disable it or lower the "fSAORadius" radius in the fallout4.ini files to make it less noticable. This will also reduce the quality of AO. So if you want to play the game with the best AO quality, you need to wait for a official CrossFire profile.

This should give you a much better scaling. However, it isn't perfect and the game might sometimes stutter.

EDIT: ARF-friendly mode gives the best scaling. In fact it is a perfect scaling. However, the game gets very very bright. You can somehow counter this effect by drastically lowering the windows gamma values. In ARF friendly mode, Gameworks features are working just fine. No effect on the scaling what so ever. TAA isn't working well, it makes the image brighter as soon as you are moving. AO also isn't working.

I can manage 60fps everywhere without specific driver with these settings for now:

    Texture Quality (Ultra)
    Anisotropic Filtering (16x)
    Anti-Aliasing (TAA)
    Shadow Distance (Medium)
    Shadow Quality (High)
    God Rays Quality (off)
    Distant Object Detail (ultra)
    Actor Fade (50%)
    Grass Fade (50%)
    Wetness (On)
    Ambient Occlusion (On)
    Screen Space Reflections (On)
    Lens Flare (On)
    Depth of Field (Standard)
    Lighting Quality (Medium)
    Rain Occlusion (On)
    Decal Quantity (High)
Object fade and item fade sliders 0% (These sliders give me stutters, i don't know why).

Ifpsclamp=60 resolvedcompletely any form of stutter (Yes i had stutter even with regular 60fps)
Forced tessellation with catalyst to 8x.

Not bad for now, considering that it is a Geforce Gamewrecks game, but could be much better.

Yeah to run at 1080p I agree but not for 720p.

At 720p in a vault I get 60fps stead fps with no drops on ultra.

Above ground running on low settings at 720p I get steady 60fps also but then for no reason I get big drop. It's not consistent, I can be in city at 60fps fighting 8 ghouls alll with no drop and then I walk around an empty corner and for a few seconds it drops to 20fps for a second with a noticable jank.

I am running the game, I want to know what settings to make it better.

My old Radeon 7970 1050/1450MHz gives great performance @1080p/120Hz. around 45-80FPS. If we get crossfire profile someday everything will be great. Drivers 15.11

Try to play on my old laptop with upgraded CPU. Spec: i7-2670qm, 6GB, 6650m 1gb ddr3@770/1130. All low 1280*720, god rays off, 1024 shadow resolution. FPS limited to 30 using radeon pro. Have 17-30 fps indoors(mostly 22-25), and 20-30 outdoors, mostly 28-30. So playable on gamepad. Without 30 fps limit, outdoor fps 20-50.

Dx11 CPU overhead occurs in CPU dependent areas. In a gpu benchmark you could only argue that overhead was the cause of the discrepancy between Nvidia and AMD if the R9 280 and 290 had the same fps.
