maybe something like the 70D? basically AF system of 7Dc and flip screen and live view AF that is actually useful and touch screen
what price are you seeing on the 70D? over here in Australia (which is typically dearer) I can find it for AUD$1035 body only local stock...I'd think it be cheaper than that over in the US :-/ otherwise would you consider grey market stock? you should easily find it for under $1k if you look grey...personally I've gone grey quite a few times without issues...ymmv of course but may be worth a look, company such as camera paradise does door to door warranty even (at least they did when I bought from them) edit: if you order before end of today B&H over there have it for $999 + freebies http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/986389-REG/canon_8469b002_canon_eos_70d_dslr.html otherwise have a look at 700D (T5i over the US I believe) not quite as sophisticated as the 70D but in terms of image quality there should be no difference and pretty nice auto focus (9 cross points) but I am not sure if it has the new live view autofocus that's in the 70D though but definitely a cut above the old SL1 function wise
isabelj: Why are you bumping old threads? Clearly the OP, who posted nearly 12 months ago, bought his camera.
