Hi all, This is my first post here and I'm desperated . I have been building my system for the last few weeks in my spare time and finally got it up and running. Unfortunetly i run into a problem. I have two MSI Twin Frozr III GTX570 in Sli and try to overclock them. I am using MSI Afterburner v2.2.0 Beta 8. I have unlocked the voltage settings and am able to change the voltage. However, after a few seconds the voltage is reset to 0.962V (the standard). If i press apply again, the voltage is raised again, and after a few seconds decreased again. Who can help me out? Thanks!
hi, please make sure only use Afterburner to control voltage and no other 3rd party vga utility running together. Otherwise, try to run single card first, to see if it helps, thanks.
Hi, its because the gpu powers down to low 3d/2d frequency state and uses less voltage. 0.912v is the default P8(low 3d freq) and P12 (low 2d freq) state voltage..it will rise once you apply higher voltage for higher OC. I wouldn't recommend overvoltage/OC applied at windows startup, because you will use more voltage in idle state and consume more power and shorten gpu life span.. Well unless you make a separate profile for low 2d clock with 0.912v. :nerd: Btw full freq. will kick in when you play a game and it won't change, also if it does then force prefer maximum performance (instead of adaptive) in nvidia control panel game profile.
