Im trying to delete W8 without having to format the drive its on. Would just deleting the folder work? Im trying to avoid formatting because I have other programs on that same drive that I use with w7.

any help would be appreciated

It's not the brightest idea to cross share software like that. The best way is indeed to just format the partition, but if that's really not feasible then yes, delete the %WINDIR% (Your Windows directory).
