I bought it as an RT5370, but when I install the driver, in add/remove programs, it says it's an RT2870 Windows own drivers / downloaded drivers, same exact problem, can't see channel 13 It's pretty crowded around here with CH1-11, and other devices keep disconnecting unless I use CH13, so changing channels isn't an option Any reason why it wouldn't see 13? I have my router set to the UK where 1-13 is allowed here, I have the advanced settings for the adapter set to 1-13 too, but it can't even see the SSID Tried it in my laptop (Win 10) and PC (Win 8.1) - same problem with both It was just a cheap replacement for the G card in the laptop, which HP nicely added a whitelist to the BIOS to prevent any other cards being installed (Tried the modded whitelist removal BIOS, it doesn't work)
Only thing I can think of is the actual radio in the stick may only go up to channel 11. I always thought these things universal, in which they know their channel range based on the OS telling them the country they are in, maybe you got short changed and the radio is the limitation. But it could be your router, or the firmware it is running, maybe.
CH13 works on every other device, so I don't think it's the router (DD-WRT firmware too) And weirdly, the adapter properties allow selection up to CH13 It was a cheapy from China, so god knows what's really in it, probably just buy another one - the internal card works for CH13, just G only
