does the statistics server not support hooking into such applications? or did dota2 just mess up when applying this in the recent patch. before they added support for this afterburner worked perfectly fine since its was just dx9.
No, IDirect3D9Ex is not supported and there are no plans to support it. It was a temporary API between DX9 and DX10, amount of applications using it is close to zero so I treat implementation is a waste of time, sorry.
