Hey guys. I'd really appreciate some suggestions, my old rig failed, board/CPU/ram is dead but the rest of my rig is fine. I'm likely going for a 5820k build soon, I may select another CPU but so far it seems the best CPU for my needs. My main reason for selecting this CPU is for audio production, I was already stressing my I7 2600k (OC'd to 4.6ghz) - so the extra 2 cores will help a lot. CPU: 5820k Board: MSI X99S SLI PLUS Alternative board: MSI X99A MPOWER RAM: G.Skill F4-2400C15Q-32GRK Ripjaws 4 32GB (8GBx4) 2400MHz DDR4 CL15 288Pin 1.2V Any suggestions / changes ? The build above (using the X99S board) + the RAM I chose is pretty much reaching my budget already. The 32GB ram is needed for the audio production I do, if it was just for gaming I'd have gone for 8 or 16GB. Thanks guys.
Well your rig looks very good. You should go with the ASUS X99-A USB 3.1, I think it's the best choice overall but more expensive(80 Euros more where I'm at).I think the X99A is better in the long run. Other than that you're good to go .
