Dish and DirecTV 2160p Planet Earth II 4K Did anyone else get to watch this in 4K? I watched the first episode, 2160p (not interlaced), absolutely stunning on my JU7100 50" (or any decent 4K set) compared to standard OTA, Cable or Sat. It's here for Sat, sooner than many predicted. Though, until they increase Sat capacity, the content is going to be severely limited.
How/where did you watch it? Been meaning to watch it for some time and if I can get it in 4K then that'd be nice The 2017 Formula 1 season is being broadcast in 4K apparently, can't wait to see how that looks.
Here in the US it was on Dish channel 540 and DirecTV (I'd have to look up their channel), They are broadcasting the episodes on Saturdays, 9 pm Eastern time. It's on BBC America so you should be able to get it as long as you have the right equipment.
I am eagerly waiting for Planet Earth 2 in 4K on Netflix. Since the first Planet earth season is on Netflix, I am hoping that they will add Planet Earth 2 too.
From Wikipedia: Planet Earth II is the first television series produced by the BBC in Ultra-high-definition (4K) Id like to see it myself
I'm just surprised more people have not commented on the commercial availability of 2160p satellite broadcasts. It was just a few months ago almost every one was saying it was a long ways off.
I really want to watch this series in 4k. Don't have a TV or any subscription. Probably gonna buy series online via amazon video or something. Planet Earth 1 did take my breath away with stunning filming, music and narrative.
Dish is broadcasting NCCA in 4K on Saturdays. A single game. The detail is distracting... looking at the crowd...eyelets on the shoes and flopping shoe laces from the sideline cam.
So the netflix 4k version should be just as good (pending internet connection) as a UHD disc version???
Just ordered this series on blu ray 4k hdr from amazon , it has been said to be one of the most visual stunning documentaries ever made. Added to my blu ray collection. Eagerly awaiting to watch it.
