It is possible. And it would be wonderful. Because some less than reasonable people would be able to see exact Clock 2 Clock comparison with last generation. In the end This probable RX-470 has same high level block counts as r9-380X.
If so I will buy this card next month, have not upgraded in the last 4years. Should be nice coming from a GTX 560.
Been going through specs of amd cards and looks like they got stuck on 32rops for a long time and high end card never over 64? They love the TMU though.
True. But those mentioned bad apples think that ROPs are not limiting factor. And that limiting factor is geometry throughput
They both are, and unlike geometry you can't limit tessellation. I sometimes wonder how much longer I could keep my card for, if it had 64 ROPs and didn't need baking
