When I was asked about the IoT's (Internet of Things), I replied that it was probably the biggest Internet security problem of our times.
This was dreamed up by someone in marketing or Governmental depts....

If only they are/were kept up to date.....we can't keep expensive mobile phones up to date after a couple of years....

I can see the point of making a huge botnet from it, just not the utility....

Anyone else read about those Internet Connected Door locks that had a bad update and have to have their firmware reflashed or replaced ?
You can still use them, if you have the physical key.

They are saying 7 days for a replacement, and 12-14 days for a reflash (send it in and get it flashed at the factory).

    IoT at its best. :)

My english use to be trash/rubbish and i don't want to be an ass but there is a little too much redundancy in this phrase. :nerd:

Could be but redundancy leads to confusion like this:

The news is they "are pleased to announce" or is they "announce they are pleased"?

    :D

Anyone dumb enough to use door locks that connect to the internet, deserve what they get imho.... Especially with the all attention IoT devices have received over their lack of security. Of course, using internet connected door locks, even your security can lack security....
