Like the title states iam looking for a used Gpu for that price range whats my best bet for 1080p? Heres a couple cards I saw at that price range....Radeon 6970, 7950,7970,Gtx 580,660,660ti, some are cheeper then others so what do you think? My guess would be 7970 would be the fastest one out of the bunch?

I just need something that will keep me in the 40 fps range in games like Metro, Avp,Dcs world, war thunder, blk ops, just to name a few I can remember.I had a hard time with Hitman absolution and my gtx 580, wasnt able to stay 30fps with settings maxed out.

    Thank you.NZ

Out of those you listed the 7970 is the fastest, you'd be looking at a 680/770 to match it on the Nv side.

I had a feeling somone would throw in the 750ti, I forgot to mention it.I dont want that card cant sli so its out of my list. But its an impressive card btw, it can keep up to Gtx 580 in most games.

    Note:Thats not a used gpu lol.But thanks

7950 with oc is a pretty great card (as fast as 280x, nearly double as fast as the 750ti)

You have a 4130 CPU so you can forget about CF 7970, not really needed at 1080p anyway.

The 7970 is fastest at stock however an overclocked 7950 will blow away all of them and be up to ~50% faster than your 6970.

I don't say that as a fanboy, it's just true.

As far as current gen cards go both 780 or 290 are great although there have been issues with certain 290's.....

If I were buying a new single GPU right now I'd lean toward the 780.....(but I got a 2nd 7950). lol

*Edit- GTX 970/980 reviews looks good.

if your willing to pay slightly more....like 180-200 you can easily get a used r9 290 off ebay....though you will have to be willing to put up with the ****ty amd drivers.

  9. Remember, keep an eye on craigslist too.

Also, I'm going to say 7970 as well. OC the **** out of it.

    Yep 100% 7970.

I have one and its a beast still even after 2.5 years being on the market.

Stock its a beast but when overclocked it can be pretty silly. Crysis 3 for me Ultra settings 2xAA 1080p and lowest fps is 43fps.

I can't speak for crossfire, I did have 2 7970's in crossfire but at the time drivers were a mess and performance was nowhere near what it is today.

The never settle drivers and frame pacing drivers really helped crossfire out big time. However, I sold my second 7970 for a nice profit when they were still worth around £250-£300.

Now you can grab a second 7970 off ebay for as little as £150 which is an insane bargain for the performance you can get out of this chips.

    @ Pill Monster
He doesn't have an 4130 cpu he has an APU.

    Also wouldn't a 7970 would be a bottleneck with his 7850k APU?
If not then a 7970 is your best bet.

Any gpu is going to be bottlenecked by that cpu, people usually buy these apu in order to use the igpu. otherwise its a very weak cpu.

    7970 is your best bet.

I have 2 of them in CF... and I generally only run 1920x1200. Complete overkill, but I like being able to not have to worry about dropping below 60fps.

For Metro Last Light.. make sure to turn off "Advanced Physx" in the game options. It is super bugged and can bring the game to a crawl (1-2 fps) no matter what setup you have.

Crossfire 7970 on an amd apu? That cpu would bottleneck just 1 7970.

I just finishing watching a how to build a computer from Newegg TV in which they did an AMD Apu build and if you wanted to add a separate graphics card into that APU build they recommended a r9 270x or a 7870.

I never recommended the OP to get 7970 CF. I just stated that is what my setup is.

And this is because Newegg TV is the authority on gaming systems, right?

    I actually tried 7870s before I got my 7970s.

For the price 7970s can be had, there is absolutely no reason to get a 7870/270x.

No. I was just stating an opinion that they said that is all. I am sure the OP can get a decent price on the 7970.

His specs must've changed then, I'm sure his profile listed a 4130. Outcome is the same though...
