Would, but can't as my Monitor only has DisplayPort 1.1a.

This looks funny, but I do not think it is exactly correct.
Well, If this driver mod can make DP1.2a (read Adaptive/FreeSync compatible) screen to work with nVidia HW, then nV lied.
Else someone got placebo effect really high and went to share it with world :)

    This is really interesting.

If someone (hint: Hilbert :)) could compare this on a G-Sync and a basic DP 1.2a monitor (freesync) monitor, it could be huge!

Basic DP1.2 does not have to have hardware to do it properly, so even if firmware was actually supporting Adaptive Sync, screen may show artifacts due to refresh at time where screen should not.

But would be funny if manufacturers start selling Freesync screens. AMD makes some serious error preventing them from releasing Freesync enabling drivers. And nVidia owners would be 1st to use Freesync :D

Edit: I would probably laugh my ass off.

I'd love for Hilbert to dig into this a LOT more if he can. I'm really not sure exactly what to think at this point. Until I get confirmation from a reliable source, I'll reserve judgement.

Didn’t work for me. No options for gsync after installing these drivers with eizo monitors connected through DP to gtx 980’s.

    IT WORKS HERE!

    You need Maxwell or Kepler GPU, or AMD GCN;
just install latest WHQL from Nvidia/AMD site(important!!), stick a finger up your *** while singing Hallelujah. You'll be rocking in no time. With or wihout G-Sync!!!

Even if it doesn't sound legit, at this point, people will accept it. The **** with the 3.5+0.5GB memory configuration on the 970 is too new for another potentially damaging rumor to start.

I think its just another coordinated attack, if you see single or double digit posters here that may be it. I`ll wait for a more well known site to feature this before judgement.

LOL the **** hits new high.

NVM that it doesn't work for anyone but OP; here's his technical explanation:

"Basically the NVIDIA drivers control everything between the G-sync Module and the Geforce GPU. The truth is that the G-sync Module does nothing else than confirm that the module is right here.

Hopefully this clear statement helps you to understand how the G-sync really works."

My monitor has DP 1.2... but is there a difference between actual DP cables?

As am I. Point is, at this point, it doesn't even have to be proven to do more damage to NVidia in the short term. Sure, this is something they can recover from if/when proven fake, but the short-term losses will still be there.

My guess is people here that joined this month will start posting video`s with this in action saying it works. If its posted on the internet it has to be true.

The hacked drivers likely do nothing more than enable the G-Sync logo to appear
