I get the same issue, it seems to be tied to higher FoV from what I can tell.

Also I get an issue with pitch black (as in can't see ****) afternoons/nights, changing SLI profile to the Far Cry 3 one fixes it.

I had the FOV slider set at default, and also to the lowest setting and it still showed those lines.

Nvidia has some optimization work ahead

Given that we found the Radeon R9 280X to be faster than the GeForce GTX 780 at every resolution, there's no doubt some controversy will follow these results.

We figured something was wrong from the get-go so we contacted Nvidia and they suggested using the newer 344.75 drivers, which were given to us prior to being made public -- initially we were using the 344.65 WHQL. The new driver was pressumably tweaked for Far Cry 4, though the release notes don't make any performance claims. Alas, with the suggested release installed, we didn't receive a single extra frame. We should also point out we are testing with the latest version of Far Cry 4 (v1.3 as of posting).

.16 for me as well. 1.4 patch should be out, I'd love to hear feedback.

I was having weird flickering with Gsync. Very smooth, but damn I wish I could get it just right.

Here's a couple more running the 344.80 drivers.
I know it isn't meant to fix these particular issues, but they seemed to make the lines worse:

The more I play this game, the more I notice strange lighting issues.
Please forgive the phone camera, I grabbed the first thing to film it with as I was in game.

Yep, Nvidia Godrays are broken mess. Even distant shadows are disabled, which looks terrible when you fly in the buzzer (you can see it in nvidia guide too).

Ubisoft need update and NVIDIA need release urgently new driver, not just fix performance but weird issues.

Heck i had problem with shadows, creepy shadows that follow me and disappeared , trees and grass left with no shadows, so shallow.

Yep, here's a quick example of shadows disappearing when you get close to them:

The same thing happens on 344.65, 344.75, 344.80 drivers.

I wonder if it game issue or NVIDIA issue.

The funny thing is, the game carries the Nvidia logo in its opening but is running better on AMD hardware. Yes, im not happy with the performance on my 980 with this game.

Apparently this is the way it's meant to be played.

Hmm looks like Ghosting from somewhat ?

Second screen looks like it's the Weapon Ghosting out ???

    A temporal Render Artifact ????

Most temporal component these days would be the AA did you looked into your AA settings ?

The lines are there no matter what settings, this is more a lighting/shadow issue.
I do get weapon ghosting when running near water, tried all AA settings, again doesn't make a difference.
    Tried all previous listed drivers (344.60, 344.65, 344.75, 344.80).

I've just come to face that fact the game is graphically borked but fun... :)

    update edit:

Now I was going through my old video of the strange light lines, this was take prior to crossing over the bridge into Pagan's territory. Notice the shadows are there and don't disappear when you get near them.
    http://youtu.be/HYC-14eS7SA

The other video with the shadows disappearing is taken after you cross the bridge into Pagan's territory, notice the strange light ray's aren't there anymore but the shadows are acting strangely.
    http://youtu.be/3Nk-qy02ON8

So how could it be a driver issue if on 2 sections of the map (which you need to progress further into the story to access) you get different issues, you'd think it would be a global graphic bug.

Ok, the bugs just gets stranger.
Now that I've past over the bridge into Pagan territory I am suffering, God Ray issues, HBAO+ glitches and shadows disappearing when you approach them..
Yet cross back over into the starting territory and shadows, HBAO+, God Rays work perfectly.

So here's a video all recorded in one sitting as I fast travel across the bridge.
    http://youtu.be/5I65pzlGcPQ

    Happy update:
    This issue can be fixed.
While IN GAME set your display settings to low the jump back into the game, go back out and then cycle through the presets and select ultra, do not set NVIDIA.
You can turn on the nvidia settings manually (god rays, HBAO+ etc)
Jump back in game and everything is back to normal north of the map.

If anyone needs a video on how to do this let me know and I'll make one.
