ASUS today announced H97-Pro Gamer, a new ATX motherboard that speeds up gamers fun with 10Gibt/s M.2 and SATA Express connectivity, Intel Gigabit Ethernet and exclusive GameFirst ll networking techno... ASUS Launches H97-Pro Gamer Motherboard
They should make board with 2x M.2 slots. Then in configuration: PCI PCIe <empty> <empty> PCIe <empty> <empty> <whatever>
What's with the three PCI legacy slots? I thought PCI was pretty much obsolete now and PCIe was the new standard.
H97 Pro Gamer? The Power of Marketing does it again. Faster gaming storage. Yep cause Normal storage and Game Storage are 2 completely different things lol. Marketing BS strikes again.
While everyone else is on the subject I might as well say it too. I'm tired of certain companies pandering to the "xXxEl1t3xXxG@m3rxXx420noscope" market. Just build some great hardware and don't try to put some lame marketing spin on it. If it's good people will buy it regardless.
maybe due to the success of the MSI B85 gaming and the Asus TUF B85... and maybe because you can game with I3 and small I5 if well equiped... and it's less expensive and save money for other stuff (electricity is planed to cost 10% more next year and food cost already 25% more than 2 year ago...)
about the PCI slot... 2 are unusable in a reasonable config so it's a pcie16 x2 a pci1 and a pci board other slot are decorative. but i would like to see a purist Mobo with only essential a bit like the LN2 from galaxy or the old pure from sapphire (despite the chipset used was crap) no vid, no usb other than 3, only PCIe 3.0, only M2 and SATAexpress, 2memory slot with space beween them... and a White PCB
The Z97 Pro Wifi Looks to be my next board not that i will ever use wifi on desktop nice to have it built in
Its a gamer board sure, not a "pro" gamer board. Its lacking OC and Ram capacities. Love ASUS highend boards
I find it amusing that people think that this isn't good enough for a pro-gamer. Following the SC2, DOTA and CSGO Pro scenes, nearly none of the top gamers play on high end hardware, unless it's provided via sponsor. And even in those cases the rigs are usually midrange. In CSGO the vast majority of pro players play at sub 720p and lower resolutions.
This an enthusiast forum alot people around here forget there the minority when it comes to OC and all that stuff and what the avrage gaming needs or wants.
The holy motherboard of cheaters. If showing where does the sound come from is not a cheat, then I wonder why do we have ears? Why do we use headphones, speakers? If someone can not detect where does the sound come from, then he is a noob. What's next? A graphic card with highlighting option for enemies, or, mouse with auto-look to the direction where the fire comes from? Come on...:wanker:
People still complain about this feature? It hardly works at all and everything I've read on it has people saying they never use it because of how bad it's implemented.
