I dont remember KB2934018 being leaked in march. but I went and installed it it was actually the only one that wasnt installed. but what I find about KB2934018 includes fixes sense march KB2919355
Yes you're right. Just checked my old leaked backup and I had this in it Hopefully this extra update fixes sluggish file explorer/desktop (happens time to time)
There have been changes since the leaked ones, but shouldn't be a problem - I have the original 4 leaked ones installed - I only had to install KB2938439 and KB2934018 to bring me up to date 9600.17041.amd64fre.winblue_gdr.140305-1710 Check your build version by running this command in CMD reg query "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion" | findstr BuildLabEx
Ok thanks, i guess this is it then: 9600.17041.amd64fre.winblue_gdr.140305-1710 Well that extra 100mb update fixed this sluggishness, but icon bug persists, sometimes it doesnt show certain directory info, it takes a couple of seconds to show all icons.. NOOoo lol, I dont want to do a refresh :O Btw if I make a new account and copy all my data from current account, ie save games etc, will my installed programs, drivers work the same? EDIT: will try DISM now that its final. Maybe it will fix the rest, before I got some error saying cant find files online.
Yea I get a delay when I open a folder full of files, it says Empty Directory or something for a few seconds before showing everything Erm, so long as the new account is an Admin account I would imagine all your installed programs would still work, and yea the drivers will be fine EDIT - Yea I`ll give DISM a shot too - apparently you should do an sfc /scannow afterwards too
Here it shows folder content, just icons are blank white and it takes few seconds to show up.. DISM still doesnt work, hmm.. Error: 0x800f0906 The source files could not be downloaded. Use the "source" option to specify the location of the files that are req ion on specifying a source location, see http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/? The DISM log file can be found at C:\WINDOWS\Logs\DISM\dism.log PS C:\WINDOWS\system32> or this Error: 0x800f081f I also tested 2 different options with this "source", but nothing. 1 time it pinpoints to windows update, 1 time net framework 3.5, both work ok though. sfc /scannow is clean, only DISM seems bugged.. Started when I installed all those leaked updates, including those 2 extra.
DISM just worked for me - are you using this command? Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth It took about 5 minutes of constant HDD activity, but now says: C:\Windows\system32>Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool Version: 6.3.9600.17031 Image Version: 6.3.9600.17031 [==========================100.0%==========================] The restore operation completed successfully. The component store corruption was repaired. The operation completed successfully. Yep, about 9-10:30am Redmond time from what Ive heard
Have you updated to the latest ADK? DISM needs to be version 6.3.9600.17031. I originally integrated all the updates to the 8.1 RTM WIM using DISM, but now that the MSDN Update 1 ISO's have been released I just downloaded that and did an in-place upgrade just to be sure I have the latest hotfixes. When I run "systeminfo" in DISM it tells me the following hotfixes are installed (from the new MSDN ISO); Code: Hotfix(s): 8 Hotfix(s) Installed. [01]: KB2891214 [02]: KB2902816 [03]: KB2919355 [04]: KB2919442 [05]: KB2937220 [06]: KB2938772 [07]: KB2939471 [08]: KB2949621
Extraordinary yes and much more Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth & http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...up-image/f9fffd60-85ff-448d-b95e-b03ed95cc4b3 & http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Fo...load-x64?forum=windowsdeveloperpreviewgeneral & 2-3 more things.. Im starting to think its because I also installed those 2 optional leaked updates.. ADK? how do i do that? thanks
after I installed KB2934018. my usb flash drive is showing files faster. before that update. there would be a delay before anything would show up. in a way, Im glad they are not doing service packs anymore. sometimes would have to wait for years before getting major updates. but then its bad. because later on down the road and doing a clean install would have to re download every update.
hmm i read some things you need the app store to install it. (cant find the update there too though (maybe its because its in dutch and will come later))
mine shows files, just not its icons (right away).. Before it showed the files too, its just sometimes it makes a quick freeze ie desktop stops responding and then continues like nothing happened. This is ok now, but that blank icon persists. Will try to rebuild folder/icon cache and repair WMI/system components if it does the trick.. well this blank icons is not really a big deal, the only thing that bugs me is this stupid DISM that can't be fixed for some reason.
Yea its coming today, from what Ive read it'll be around 10:30am Redmond time EDIT - Check now, Ive just gotten 7 updates, some for Office and some for Windows
