So I have never had so many drives on my system before usually just ran 1 or 2 max, I am worried my system might be pulling to much power? 1) Corsair Force Ssd 90 gb boot drive C 2)Radeon R7 120 Gb Ssd-Drive D 3)WD Black 1tb 7200 rpb Hdd-Drive E 4)Seagate baracuda 500gb Hdd-Drive F I have a single corsair fan blowing air towards the drives and it seems to do the job Hradware reports temps of 27c on all 4 but my main concern is with all these drives am I using power I really dont need? My corsair Hx 850 is getting old I would hate to fry my system for a noob mistake like this. Thanks guys.:stewpid:
Those temps are fine they can take quite a bit of heat, you could try activating power saving too if you wanted.
Hi there Yours temps are OK and I would say they're perfect,I've in my PC 7 normal HDD plus 2 SSD and temps generally are lot lower on SSD and on normal HDD temps are in 30's(highest temp on one HDD I've seen 40C) Hope this helps Thanks,Jura
your psu will be fine, hard drives generally wont draw more than 10w each at peak usage, for ssd I'm guessing that's even lower, you probably have case fans that are more power hungry than that
This is just my gaming rig. Eventhough I have 360mbs internet, 1TB bandwith cap a month, I like to keep my games installed as I work 2 jobs and free time is not that much. As for temps on hard drives, I have a Carbide 500r case with 2 120m fans in the front. My 2TB, and 1TB are at 26c, and my 3TB is 30c. Its external USB 3.0.
I concur with this statement. All the sata ports on my motherboard are in use, 5 storage drives and 1 blu-ray drive.
Oh wow! I guess I need to get with the times haha, iam still thinking people are using 1 drive like in the old days.I feel a little better now thank you.
the power and heat HDD/SSD pull are nothing compared to everything else I would not worry about it. I have 2 Drives in my system 1 128GB 830 and 1 500bg barracuda, then again I dont install all my games anymore. if I did I sure I Would need like 4TB +
