    Hi,

I have had 726 of these errors show in the event viewer in the last 24 hours.

Apart from a few short freezes (which could be coincidental) everything else seems ok. But I'm worried that all is not well.

I ran HDTune and it shows I have 49 damaged blocks (2%). However OCZ SSD Guru and SMART data indicates that my drive is ok (although I don't know how to read these accurately).

    So now I'm very confused.

    See below SMART Data:

    SMART Table

ID ATTRIBUTE STATUS VALUE WORST THRESHOLD RAW

    241 Lifetime Writes from Host 50 0 0 0 3821
    242 Lifetime Reads to Host 50 0 0 0 6787

Do I need a new drive or is windows 10 playing up?

    Would really appreciate your advice.

    Thanks

I personally don't get the impression your drive is going to die soon, but maybe I'm reading the table wrong. It still says 'ssd life left' 100 with a 10 threshold (it's decreasing as the ssd 'dies').

You should worry about power failures though, there's been reports of people getting corrupted files (from the os) due to blue screens, hard locks and such stuff. Keep an eye on it closely.

    Thanks.

This is a clean install and the drive is 3.5 years old so the number of unexpected power offs is only 28 in that period. Not ideal but not unusual.

Just wish i could understand the error in event viewer.

Run chkdsk /r from the cmd.
This will mark out any bad blocks and stop data from being written to them.
Also download crystaldisk info and see if the drive is dying by looking at its status.

    Hi Veteran,

Sorry i should have been more clear. I have an SSD.

I think chkdsk /r is unnecessary for SSD's?

OCZs own SSD Guru software doesn't indicate imminent drive failure. It says all ok.
