Just a quick question or two about h270 and ddr4.

I just recently bought a new desktop with a i7-7700, Asus Prime Plus H270 mobo, MSI GTX1060 OCv1, and Adata XPG 16gb ddr4 2400mhz ram. I am just curious about ram speed is it locked at 2400mhz no matter what with the h270 chipset? Or is there a way to get a little more mhz from it? Also any other tweaks or tips for getting a little more from the setup would be great! Thanks!

 

You will be limited to 2400 as both the CPU and H270 chipset are locked from high RAM multipliers.

 

Hey thanks for the reply! I was coming from a old i7-860 cpu, H57 chipset, so I should have done a little research but overall I am happy with the new rig. I have one more question for you I got a prebuilt desktop with i7-7700, Asus Prime Plus h270 mobo, 16gb Adata ZPG ddr4 2400mhz ram, MSI GTX1060 OCv1 gpu, 120gb Adata SSD, 1tb WD Blue HDD, EVGA 500w psu, USB AC1200 wifi adapter, and a two glass panel with remote RGB case for $950. Could have done better doing my own build in your opinion or was it a pretty good deal? I really appreciate your info/opinion! Thanks!
