I haven't seen it go past 60c yet.. I have set in the bios to sound a warning at 70c

I will need to do some more stress testing, playing Skyrim.. I don't think it's stressing it enough.

But.. by golly Skyrim is smooth..

Use Linx, Occt(Linpack), IBT and Prime 95 for stress testing x58.
Whats the batch number of your cpu?

How would I find out what the batch number is?

Please don't say look on the top of the actual CPU... because I used the very last of my thermal paste 9__9

    xD

It didn't come in a box.. it is second hand xDDD

It's no big deal.. it's running stable and very cool with the Antec 620 on it.. Much better so far then my Phenom 955

Going back to my original target of 3.8GHz

After doing some real stress tests I have found it to be unstable at 4GHz with the voltage I want to use. I could remedy it with a higher voltage but I feel it would be better in the long run to sit at 3.8GHz

Anyways.. thanks to all the people who posted here.. I've ended up with a really speedy system.

There is no competition. Core i7 920 beats FX 6300 soundly in my made benchmark Beating a Phenom II X4 is like taking a candy from a baby. My Core i7 920 D0 (Xeon W3520) is doing 4 GHz at 1,275 V.

At the same speed, the Nehalem Core i7 is just 6 % behind Sandy Bridge Core i7 at average FPS.
