Hi! On my brand new Compaq Evo 300D, the driver for the hercules 3D Prophet 4500 causes XP to crash about every 10 minutes (XP's error message clearly states, that the video driver is the one to blame).
Does anybody else have the same problem?
Compaq Evo 300D has a P4 with 1.8 GHz and an Intel 845 chipset with a 400-MHz front side bus.
My first thought was, that the driver is outdated, so I installed the latest one from http://www.hercules.com (Version 15.084) but that didn't help. The one that I downloaded from http://www.powervr.com/ wasn't any better (guess they're the same anyway).
The only way I found to "solve" the problem, was to de-activate the driver.
I sent e-mail to hercules (Germany) and they seem to do something. Has anybody else reported problems like this to them?
Cheers, Kusti

    problem solved ...

... for those of you that run into similar things... the replacement I got from copaq just work wuderfull.. same driver same everthing except for the video card.
So, it was a hardware bug after all.

    Regards,
