Just saw a review and guy pulled off the protective plastic....... and it stays under screws because they bolted it like this!! under load it makes a rattling noise !

Well that's dumb of EVGA to do if true but still they're screws, you unscrew them and pull the plastic out.

People on EVGA forum are saying they were trying for like an hour and didn't manage to pull it all out..... i wouldn't touch it at all.

I assume the parts are made seperately , that cover will come with the plastic protection already on it so they just screw straight through it , as for rattling?? I am not sure that a thin layer of plastic is going to leave the screw loose? If anything its going to help it stay in place.

It is an oversight on their part though , its an easy fix but they should have made sure it was done correctly in the first place those cards aint cheap and you would expect attention to detail

They may not honour warranty now, since you've modified the part! ...

Whoever came up with the idea to put plastic under the screws should be sent home.

Just use fire, fire melts plastic, being metal, the screws should be fine afterwards

    :D

this is good for the consumer. all these cards will be RMA'ed, and us poor folks might be able to afford a refurb 10x0 series card now :p

offering 500 bucks for one, will pay for shipping as well!

Nobody wants to be 'fixing' there £600 Brand new GPU.

If they've overlooked something like that.... It's not good.

Use a blow dryer on hot or heat gun, but with heat gun be careful that plastic will disappear.
