Hello, if the GTX 1080 reference is 9 tflops and the gtx 980 ti reference 5 tflops, does this mean that the 1080 will be 70-80 % faster than the 980 ti ?
Unlikely. Teraflops do not really tell the full story and you can only compare between cards that use the same architecture.
@Anarion: that + floating point operations of what precision exactly. @bugsixx: There's some leaked benches out already showing little better perf than 980 Ti. OC'ed 980 Tis are basically on par with GTX 1080. Check the frontpage news / main site.
GTX 1080 Owners Thread Since my IRL name is Pascal, I obviously need to have created a thread about this wonderful card. I'll be ordering one as soon as it comes out and this time I'll try nVidias own cooler in case I go back to SLI. Anyone else planning to buy one, or two, or four?
I'm still on the fence should i get 1080 or 1070. If the performance is pretty marginal i'd be getting 1070 as it is 220$ cheaper !
But does it have 7.5 of vram ? Just joking i just wait for them benchies first i am hyped tho, for boh of them cards
Well not too bad at all given this is the new mainstream high-end card meant to replace GTX 970/980. The flagship Pascal hasn't been announced yet I think. End of the year at the earliest I'd imagine.
No, Ti isnt even confirmed First they release the 1080 and 1070, later comes the 3rd party cooler versions and then most likely 1060. All this within 2016. In 2017 we might hear more about 1080Ti since it will most likely come out at some point.
Thinking of the 1080 as an upgrade but going to wait this time at first also depends which ones I can get an EKWB for with GDC connectors.
don't trust review like jayztwocents, linustechtips etc they all can't even detect GTX 970 got 3.5 GB VRAM for REALLY? :bang:
