This is an amazing launch. We now have at least two awesome engines for basically free!

I'm going to download this along with the Humble Bundle of assets (supposedly cost them 22 million to make over the years and costs a mere $13 on H.B. right now). I'm a novice modder off and on and I've enjoyed that process, so I figure it's a no brainer to try to learn something new that's both interesting and cheaper then a Pizza Supreme.

After so much mismanagement (Crytek had more than 900 people working for them at a point), I'm a bit unsure about the future of the engine. I'm also unsure as to the value of this partnership with AMD. Ubisoft would probably be a much more sane move.

13 USD for all these assets is much more than a bargain.

I like the idea of this alot.
The "Pay What You Want" plan allows more indie and "wannabe" game developers to get an easier start and possibly release an amazing game in the future.
The payment you make to Crytek when you make money from using the engine is also very small as well, it's something like 5% which is significantly better than what other game engines offer.

It gave me it for nothing in the end, but crashed a lot just loading up a sample map, so uninstalled

UE4 has a ton of videos and tutorials that are really hard to beat at this point. The amount of assets that Crytek is giving is probably the biggest draw to the engine.
