The tree leaves in Forza 5 look ps2 level graphically. One big texture of crap. It's like they focused completely on the level of detail for the cars and nothing else.

Very late with these screens from Killzone on PS4. Been too busy with PC games at the moment.

And it's a pity Sony don't yet allow uncompressed captures because it does them no favours. These looked much better in game.

My opinion of Killzone is it has great art style but a lack of decent AA stops it looking as good as stuff like Crysis 3. The lighting though, is quite stunning, although I'm sure some visual trickery is being used because even though it runs at 1080p, the effects like lighting seem to somehow be a lower res (if possible?).

Still, great for a launch game.

That section from the second last shot was crazy. The window panels are all enclosed on the space station but if you shoot them out, real time lighting pours in and the sunlight burns not only enemies, but melts objects too. Really nice :)

I disagree with the gameplay. NBA Live plays much smoother and much more like real basketball than 2K.

Nice screens, just finished killzone, enjoy it for the most part, a few too many pointless sections but a solid shooter and georgous to look at, ending wasnt that great either but can live with that.

Yeah id have to agree i think, some of the early levels were great in the cities etc but was not that fond of the last few chapters, boring as hell in places but amazing in others but by far the bes next gen title to look at.

The basics are done well its just the stupid walking/jumping sections that didnt need to be there, more hands on action sequences would have been better, missed oportunity.

To me their best game was Killzone 2. By far the best level design and action sequences.

But all in all, I'm shocked the series has made it to 4. (More if you add the portable games). This PS4 game feels like a decent tech demo with a 'game' thrown in by devs that have little idea what a great first person shooter should be.

It is so basic. And I mean, like 5+ year old games type basic. Terrible AI, badly scripted, magically spawning enemies from thin air while your back is turned and the story requires it, stupid things like when you behind an enemy with his back to you and you go to melee him it actually warps his whole body to face you first so you can snap his neck.

People say games like Crysis are pretty bad gameplay wise, but I've found all three of their games so much better than anything in this Killzone series.

I say this with not having played KZ4.

    1. Im torn between 2 & 3, though the grittiness of 2 is the direction i hoped they would continue with.

    2. I agree, but its what i've been hoping for since the first. For the series to stick around that is.

    3. Hmm, Crysis 1 was to me, about on par with KZ 2 as far as my enjoyment of the two games is concerned.

Though i can help but feel like the problem with this series is the the devs have tried to fix, or change things to please they wrong audience. What i mean by that, is that the first game was touted as being a Halo killer by nearly everyone except Gorilla Games, then when it came out, it of course didnt live up to the hype and rightly so too, as it wasn't near halo in terms of fun or gunplay.

Its sort of like the Wipeout ..erm effect, if you read the Q&A on eurogamer, Liverpool studios came to the conclusion that it didnt matter what they changed, the series was never going to sell overly well due the fact that first timers expected one thing and got another, or were simply turned off by the extreme difficulty. As such, most gamers, except the die-hard fans, completely removed the series off their list, hence the studios closer.

To me, Killzone 2 captured the best of the Killzone idea (if im in the same frame of mind as the devs) with it being a space ***** hybrid type shooter with some, imo, the best gun feedback i've ever experienced in a game before. The grittiness was perfect, but i felt that the new lean towards overly tech looking characters seen in KZ 3 was a shame. Id even say that the transition from KZ2 to Killzone 3 resembled the transition which occurred in Crysis 1 when going from fighting human ai to the boring arse aliens.

Like i said further up, I think because of the constant complaints from gamers for this series, its being changed to the point of no longer resembling the core idea of Killzone, which is a shame because imo, its been a breath of fresh air compared to the constant rehashes we've had over the last 8 or so years.

Cheers for all the screenshot as well.

I know where you're coming from. I don't know why so many people cried about the heaviness to the weapons in 2... I LOVED that more than any fps I've ever played! Felt amazing!

    Now...it's gone.

And you're welcome. I paid for the game so have to finish it now I guess so more pics coming soon ;)
