HELP! I think my mother has DESTROYED my motherboard while I was away!

Make sure to let your mom know she is responsible for breaking your pc. Dont pretend its the "dust" inside pc that was at fault here.

 

I'm assuming you don't have a case and just leave your components on a desk. I can't believe that anybody's mother would open a case and clean it

 

Probably some sort of open air case, they've been gaining popularity over the past couple of years. Not something I'd use personally, functional for people swapping components out a lot though.
