Hey guys I've had my i5-2500K since 2011 and I absolutely love it. I currently have it overclocked to 4.2ghz. I'm going to be upgrading my GPU in the up coming months and was wondering about my CPU.

I know when it came out the i5-2500K was a pretty bad ass CPU, especially when overclocked. So should I worry about having to upgrade my CPU any time soon, or just worry about my GPU, which is an AMD 6950.

Your CPU still has life left in it, the 2500K is still a very strong chip. You could probably get a better OC out of it, but it's not something I'd worry about much. What GPU are you thinking of getting?

Thinking about getting the new GTX 970. Seems be have a pretty good bang for the buck. Won't be getting it till February/March time frame, so I'm going to keep an eye on what AMD releases.

yeh in 2011 i also bought a i7 2600k and some of my friends a i7 2600k's and i5 2500k's they arent showing age signs they still rock.

We also need some GPU upgrades tough.. i personally have a gtx 570 its still good but... im probably get a 900 series next year.

Or more precisely when some badass games arrive, like tomb raider, ME4 or something.
This year was rather poor, just a bunch of half assed games and some uninteresting boring games like watch dogs
