The 83xx seems to be popular all of a sudden...great to see all these 5K overclocks too.

When it comes to CPU's this forum has been very lopsided with the majority owning Intel so it'll be great to have some healthy competition with the i5...:)

Also nice to know not everyone has been brainwashed by a few Intel fanboys who worship the i5 and constantly put down the Vishera. And I think we all know who I'm referring to. ;)

I must say I haven't heard many negative comments about the 8320/8350 since everyone started benching with 3D Mark 2013....:p

Btw I don't think all Intel owners are fanboys and I'm not trying to start a flamewar here....

Yeah agree completely. There is one other member here who seriously gets on my nerves...

    Funny though, I haven't heard a peep from him lately...how strange :D

Btw thanks for the advice on H2O cooling, I'll check out those parts you mentioned.

Just opened a paypal account- never used it before so should be interesting lol

No worries man. There's always going to be a few bad apples in the basket. I have both Intel and AMD rigs and guess what, bolth do the same fu*king thing. :nerd:

Actually that is exactly what happens. Some even talk through their ass in their own Intel section.

    OK back on topic :nerd:

Question. My motherboard is making a clicking noise everytime I reboot. I know that's not normal. But if the board was starting to flake, that could hinder OC potential couldnt it? It just started doing it earlier today,

I know thats why i think Hilbert should do a revisit on this processor.. at 5ghz oc and try out some of the new benches and just see how it fairs.. I know most games intel will blow it away but im interested to see what a 3dmark13 5ghz 8350 vs a I5 maxed out at 4.7~4.8...

It might be time to buy a test bench :p and a intel board and chip lol... Wish ihad the cash to do that..:nerd:

Id use coretemp or hwmonitor for temps. dunno about occt but aida64 is usually a few degrees off

paypal is really easy to use, and very safe. you shouldn't have any trouble with it.

If OCCT is showing your CPU temp at 12c, then no lol. Try a program called Hwinfo64. You can get it from the link below.

You sure it's the mobo? Could be the HDD.....

I already did that yesterday in the 3DM 2013 thread. Some newbie with a 2500K was bragging how his i5 could beat the 8320, so I called him out on it...

Well my Vishera @~5Ghz beat his 5Ghz 2500K by about 400 points in the Fire Strike physics test.

He couldn't admit defeat and made every excuse under the sun as to why he lost, then started to ramble on about how Vishera sucked blah blah....in the end I sent Hilbert a pm about his behavior.

Here's an example...(this was (AFTER I beat him). lol http://forums.guru3d.com/showpost.php?p=4523938&postcount=319

AIDA64 shows the correct CPU temp but the core temps are all messed up.
I checked the reading against the ASUS Thermal Radar CPU sensor which I know is accurate, they were both the same.

HWiNFO64 is also accurate as Phazedelta said.

what is related to HWINFO64 temp3? is it the socket? because there is like 10°c difference between cpu temp and this one.
that suck i'm stuck at 4.2Ghz 1.42v, i got random error on all core at 4.3Ghz even with 1.46v with OCCT cpu is at 35°C and temp3 45°c, i'm starting to hate that board and the last F8a bios didn't help with oc. I certainly will try to RMA it and try to get at least a 990X instead.
