hmmm would be interesting to have that set up with my ps4 on my current surround sound

 

Considering you can do just about anything you want with it,yes and it would be killer. Its nice you can move it anywhere you want and it isn't stuck inside your computer.

 

Gotta bring this back to life now that this thing is out. Does anyone have it yet?

 

Looks like nobody has it yet. Probably cuz the ONLY place to get it is from that site you posted. I'm going to but this as soon as it is available for purchase in Canada. I still don't know WHY THE HELL a product is listed as "released" and then make you wait forever for it to truly become available to all of us. Even we in Canada.

 

I got too impatient for this thing to be for sale in Canada,so I tried to order from the site posted. Guess what? They don't ship to Canada! I can't spend my money no matter how hard I try. I'm pissed.

I ran out of patience waiting for the X7. I wanted to try a different sound card so I just ordered this http://www.htomega.com/claro2.html I like the fact that it's not PCI-E. No power cable needed and I can put it in a slot that doesn't interfere with air flow to my Video cards. It's also 7.1 analog and since I'm going to order the Asus Strix 7.1 analog headphones,this will do fine. I already have the Xonar Phoebus which is 7.1 too, but this Claro "might" be better for gaming. I kinda doubt it,but you never know til you try. We shall soon see. I'll let you know what I think. Ordered and shipped today from Newegg Canada.

 

I believe those cards' drivers are dead nowadays.

 

I've kinda wanted a USB sound card for a while now, ever since i switched to Mini-ITX.... but $399? HELLS NO!

 

Which of "those cards" drivers do you mean? The Phoebus? Claro? Thanks.

 

Curious on the Claro ESlik. I can't see that besting your Phoebus tho.. Just get the Sound Blaster ZXR bro..

I don't know if it's better or not either. I've read quite a few good reviews,and figured what the hell,I'll try it and see for myself. I will let you know what I think after I play around with it for a while.

 

Ouch is right,but wasn't the Asus Essence one like $1200? What made that worth $1200?

 

I don't know but there are very minor changes between the original X7 and this Limited Edition. I don't know if this is worthy of a $100 premium.

 

They should have put a blue LED ring around the volume control. Let you be able to dim it or turn it off. That would have looked sweet. That alone would be worth the $100 to me.
