Problem with DVI to HDMI cable

    Hey this question isnt for me it is for a buddy of mine.He just bought a DVI to HDMI cable which i didnt even know existed.Problem is when he hooks it up it will show the backrond on his pc for about a second and then it will go off and the tv will say searching for signal then it will pop right back on and it keeps doing this over and over again and we cant figure out why is it doing this.If anybody can help it would be great.Thanks in advance.

    Yea, it's the cable. I think I've read some where that signal being weak like that can be caused by oxidation on the cable ends, and apperantly you can clean them. But, you'll have to Google that, I have no idea how it's done.
