So that seems to be the best GPU you can get if you are a sane person.

So... the best bang for the buck seems to be a Crossfired Nano...

    https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/AMD/R9_Nano_CrossFire/

2 Nanos cost 100-200€ less than a single TitanX and still performs better.
    Somebody just EXPLAIN me this...

    Nano Prices

Also Fury X is 150€ more per card and thats too much for the little gain you get from it... in my opinion.

So if I should have 900€ to spare I wont get a Fury X and use the 300€ for partying. And I also won't borrow another 200€ to get a Titan X...

Nah instead I just get a Nano Crossfire and be happy until I have another 900€ (or less) for quadra :nerd:

    Opinions?

dont spend 900€ for graphics cards when you want to be named a sane person.

Spending 900 bucks in this very moment on a graphics card is stupid alone.

Also this "best bang for your buck" is hit or miss pretty much. Crossfire support eh.

    yes it's just hypothetical.
i mean... i spent 300€ on my two 270x and i achieve better performance than single Radeon 290x and single GTX 970 in most of the games.

i was just wondering, if i would be in the position of having for example a radeon 5850 or a geforce 8800 ... what future proof setup would i invest in at the moment. and i think it would be the nano for 450€ per card instead of for example a 980ti for 650€ per card or a fury x for 600 € per card...

so even if i only buy one nano

also the xfire argument is invalid. i run gta v and fallout 4 in 1440p 60fps stable with my xfire setup.
ofc there are games who need more fine tuning to get xfire running. but of all popular games i own there is yet the one to come that doesnt make use of xfire.../or SLI...

basically as far as i see it. 970SLI, 980SLI, 270x CF, nano CF are 4 very price friendly and performant choices at the moment.
980 Ti and fury x is just too much money difference for little fps gain compared.

Running 2 Nanos on stock cooling will cause the cards to throttle. I have seen this in a Video on YouTube during benchmarking.

I would buy 2x 270X 4GB instead of 290X/970 if someone put a gun to my head.

    For 2x 270X 2GB... i'd just KUNG-FU his @ass :p

today i wouldnt buy 2gb ofc... lol

I know... I know... and I suppose you already had had 270X before buying 2nd 270X card.
Still that was not an optimal upgrade path imho.

2 smaller GPU used to be quite popular back in the day, not anymore though

4GB should last some time, especially at 1080p,
but buying a 4GB card now would be suboptimal, considering 8GB is going mainstream

Half decent airflow in case will prevent them from throttling. And they still would deliver damn high performance even if clocked to 950MHz on core.

    Yup !

    Air-Flow is very important.
Everything is important if you wanna Play/Work :nerd:

And Furys don't throtle in good airflowed case :)

But if you are really SANE you'll pick just 1 Nano, or wait for POLARIS HBM GPU's in 14nm. Just saying :nerd:

This. Any thoughts on the best bang for the buck will change once the new cards from AMD and Nvidia are out, we'll have to re-estimate anyhow.

    Yup.

Here you'll have some insights in Pascal arch.

I think they milk some more from Maxwell (called in PR Pascal but for real is upg. Maxwell gen.3)
No GDDR5X maby in Q1 2017 (there is no mass production yet ! check at Micron)

    YT info

BTW i go for Polaris HBM, Yes it will be announced soon, cuz' now ATI show us the Hi/Mid range GPU's and chance there will be no Enthusiast POLARIS GPU with HBM is 0% !
