Some evidence and any technical expertise is not allowed to be pursued or used by the NZ defense as the US have warned it will seek civil and criminal ramifications for both the experts and the defense. As in, in a NZ court of law, they're not allowed to do their job. The united states is also being accused of purposely delaying access to legal fees (via wealth obtained outside of the current charges) leaving the defense with only 3 out of the 5 months they had to build a defense. It isn't the fault of the US that he's a criminal. Nor is it the fault of the US that New Zealand seized his assets.
A recent interview with him, he said it was the US that did both, and made a point of it because he's never even been to the US
American entertainment companies and American music companies were the ones impacted. As the laws are currently written he is guilty. We are currently in a state of hyper social evolution and there are a lot of things going on in this case.
By renting US based servers, he made his business subject to US law. The long standing treaties with the US and HK are the controlling documents. It's established he's dishonest and flaunts the law. On the other hand, our civil forfeiture laws have gotten out of hand.
