I'm curious what brand of cases people like the most and why. It would also be interesting to hear about case brands you'll never buy again.

I've been using Antec and NZXT cases and I'd kind of like to branch out more in the future.

    Caselabs, Corsair, Silverstone.
Reasons are basically uber quality aimed at high end watercooling.

Had good experiences with Cooler Master and Fractal Design cases so far, but I've got no preferences. Whatever fits my hardware, has the right specs and looks appealing does the job for me.

Lian Li makes some high quality cases. I have modded and used many of them for years. All Aluminum construction, removable mother board trays, great design.

Current favorite is the Corsair Air 540. Plenty of room and great cooling.

Corsair / Silverstone / Fractal Design.

    • They are all functional
    • Have a good range of shapes and sizes
    • Don't look like a child's toy
    • Good quality builds

For me functionality and internal space are paramount but a very close factor is its looks and cases from these manufacturers are very pleasing to the eye. No unnecessary crud plastered to the front or excessive grills that make it look like a real turd.

Years ago I really liked ThermalTake cases when they weren't all made of plastic.

Now I'm more for Corsair and Coolermaster

    Coolermaster, Antec.

Currently using a HAF-X and an Elite 300 somethingorother for my main and backup rigs respectively. Previously had Nanoxia (pain in the ass to build with) and built rigs in Fractal cases for friends (also PITA), and personal Antec rigs (300 and P193, both of which were a pleasure to work with).

    BLEH!

I moved from a Thermaltake Xaser VI to a Corsair Carbide Air 540 and it was a good move to move the Carbide air 540 because of it cube size and it is much lighter in weight compared to the Thermaltake Xaser VI case.

I'm seeing a lot of Corsair nods. I may have to look at their cases a bit more and peek at some of the others mentioned.

On a related note, I've also started restoring some of the older Antec cases I have. I painted the entire inside and backside of my son's (4 year old?) Antec Three Hundred case as well as the front and sides in gloss black (and HDD, CD drive). I added some lighting and it looks fantastic now. I was surprised how well it came out using $5 spray cans, looks better than the pics.

Gotta be Parvum for me. They built me my custom extended s2.0 mATX case which looks fantastic is great to work with, and enables a great watercooled mATX system.

I've also been testing out their new ITX case which packs a punch for such a tiny enclosure (makes my mATX seem huge)

I'm also a big fan of Silverstone & corsair cases, both of which I've modded in the past and got some great high end systems in!

Just thought I'd revive this thread to say thank you. My daughter ended up picking a Corsair 750D for her new build. I mentioned it as a brand she should also be looking at based on the recommendations here.

Looks like a sharp case. Comes in a few days.
