If you pit 20s on a Land Rover, you might as well put a bumpersticker on your car saying "Please don't notice my micro-penis."
You bought a car that is allegedly good at going off-road. Even though that is questionable on a freelander, putting 20s on is essentially admitting you're never going to use it for that purpose.

That's ok.

Plenty of people buy cars just because they like them, with no intent on using them for whatever purpose that car specializes in.

Hardly anyone with a corvette or sport bike will track their vehicle.

It's simple appreciation for a nicely built or nice looking machine.

So true judging by the people around here buying F350 4x4 pickup trucks that have never had and never will have anything in the box and will never use the 4 wheel drive in all likely-hood.

Well, in my liking, alloy wheels are important, the stock is so meh. Many people I know are changing, or adding alloy wheels while they are buying their vehicles.

IMO, any wheels are ok if they were an option on the car when it was new.

Some aftermarket stuff is ok, but it has to be in keeping with the rest of the car.

I'm just not a believer in huge wheels, though. Anything less than a ~50 profile looks silly on most cars.

They don't need to be huge
