http://www.engadget.com/2011/11/05/dell-inspiron-14z-review/ this is it altough black coloured plan A buy it,along with a 128/250 SSD...call it a day. plan B wait a liitle longer for a better Ivy laptop... i really need a laptop, and soon. opinions?
Hi, I have the 15r version same specs accept it has 15" screen and Nvidia GT525m graphics. I dropped in a 240GB SSD and upped the memory to 8GB. Replacing the Hard Drive is not made easy as you actually have to disassemble the whole thing to get to it. They have a very average screen res it's horrible to use when you have light shining from behind you due to the reflective screen surface. They are not to sturdy or robust against every day use when lugged around in a bag and carelessly dropped by accident. On the up side they work well and mine has been very reliable and zippy with any task I've thrown at it. I purchased it off Ebay for $480 (AUS) 2nd hand (3months old when I got it) For the price I paid when I bought it I couldn't be happier.
i5 is pretty solid! I like the way they designed the screen coz the hinges are no longer on the corner. For gaming I prefer doing the game thing on a PC Kinda like the graphics compared to laptop. ________________________ Chicago Laptop Repair
Bought it,Monday i will have it at my door. decided to buy an Crucial M 4 128gb and use the hdd as external.. Will upload some pics,if someone wants... Will do some benchies, too. Ps..no,i don't regret waiting for Ivy Bridge laptop.
Dual core and HT doesn't really compare to quad cores, it helps, but not like 2 more cores, and the applications have to be configured to use it. But that of course allows it to have a longer battery life and be lighter.
Got my Crucial M4,did a fresh install ,installed all my software, made a back up image. Well being in the eye of the huracan(school final exams) i didnĀ“t have much time fiddling around, benching or else. But i made some tests Here you have it Well,i forgot to bench the former hdd and upload results, but it was an average WD 500 GB 5400 RPM. more, with the new SSD i get this laptop feels snappy and all in all i payed 499 +99 - laptop + SSD i think i made a good choice,as for the time being.
