Hello everyone When i have buy my set up in may,i've run it for 3 weeks at stock setting just to be sure everything was running fine. After this 3 weeks of test i have overclock my cpu to 4.2 without problem. Now i have increase it to 4.5 and i wanna know if 1.360 is to high for the voltage cause im not stable under those setting. And my temp are very good when i play Crysis 2 with maldo mode the cpu doesnt go above 53C on a cooler master hyper 212 Thanks a lot Rom
Stress test with Prime95 and IntelBurnTest for max heat. If you can run P95 for 12 hours on blend mode you should be stable. Same goes for IBT on very high, at least 20 passes for stability. Takes a while but worth it for being sure it is stable.
1.36v is fine. I'm using the same cpu and cooler and I get 4.5ghz @1.2v but I got lucky with my chip. Anyway, run some Prime and ibt. Anything under 70C after a few (at least 6) hours of Prime and you're good. You're every day temps will be lower anyway. report back with your results.
it all depends on his cpu. I'm on 4.5ghz 1.2v. some need 1.3+v for that. it's down to his cpu. you can't just generalize it like that
I been running around 1.45v for 2 years. A little bit of degredation. I used to be able to run 4.7ht at 1.42v and 4.8 no ht same volts. now I am relegated to 4.6ht, 4.7 no ht 1.45v
I wouldn't go past 1.4V myself for h24/7, and keep temps lower than 70C° in burn, as said before. Your 1333 RAM won't push hard on the IMC so you should be fine tweaking only the Vcore. If your motherboard's bios has the option, turn "internal PLL overvoltage" on, and lower the PLL voltage to 1.55 or 1.5 (it's actually a totally different setting). It should help to push your chip to the limits once you have found your highest Vcore for 70C° as absolute max temp. Good luck !
even over 70c after a few hours of ibt/prime would be fine, those are extreme conditions and he would never run that cpu that hot in every day situations.
I got an unused 2500k I could pop in if I have to rma my 2600k, so I go higher on the voltage as I have a replacement handy. Probably would go much over 1.4v if I didnt have a spare. 70c is really low for p95. I had her going up to 90c hottest core at 4.9ghz in the summer. passed
Ok thanks for the reply guys, when i have time left i will run prime 95 for few hours and i will get back with the result. Again thanks a lot thats very appeciated
Ok some feedback After 3 hours off prime 95 everything have gone like it should. My temp with real temp are:Core 0=56 Core 1=64 Core 2=62 Core 3=58 So it looks like everything is under control :banana::banana: Thanks again for the good info
yeah, those temps are great. they would go up a few °C after a longer run but nothing major. enjoy your rig
well I got 1 year of warranty left so they would have to give me something, hope its not a 3770k as I do not want to delid the fukcer so it would run hotter than SB
