Tagged in their L337 Gaming series, ECS released the Z97I Drone motherboard. It offers decent features at a very good price. ECS took the Z97 chipset and made a nice dark looking motherboard. It also ...

The layout confuses me lol. SATA and Power connector positioning.

Not just you be me also....

Makes no sense to have the SATA ports at the top of the board by the CPU Power!

Noticed some errors on page 2, "and we spot one 10/100/1000 fast Ethernet jack (intel)", Fast Ethernet stands for 10/100 connection only.
And if the photo is right there is no D-Sub connector but a DVI instead.

Maybe it's just me but because of prior very bad experiences with nearly 90% of ECS mobos that had went through my hands in all these years (probably more than 50, 60 of them, certainly more than different 30 models) I wouldn't touch any ESC mobo not even with ten foot pole.

It seems to be poorly designed, but of course what do you expect from ECS?

I am the same way. I use to work at a shop and we would stay very far away from them and my paranoia of them still exist. To me I always saw reviews of ECS on here like this :3eyes: and a feeling of :puke2:

ECS has gone up in quality recently. Them and Biostar both have.

Most of the new itx high end board have sata on top or in the backplate side with psu cap line or even in a daughter board...

On ITX it is not an issue as generaly everything is very close (unless you would have chosen a mATX with better space and less expensive. don't you ? ;) ).

about quality... well... it is no more sold due to bankrupt of the distributor in here since end 90' so i don't know.
