Sorry for making another thread but after thinking through and looking up reviews i had an idea.... First of my motherboard is a Gigabyte 78LMT-S2PV and my CPU is an fx4300. I now have 2x4gb DDR3 Kingston value ram at 1333 CL9 running at 1466 Mhz, my motherboard has 4 slots of ram (basically it supports two dual channel kits) if i get another set of 2x8 Gb Kingston HyperX Beast 1600 CL9, would i be able to run them both in dual channel ? (basically having Kingston 1333 running in its own dual channel mode and also having the Kingston Beast ram running in dual channel at 1333) for a total of 24 Gb ram. Of course i just want each kit to run in its own dual channel at 1333 CL9 (well and "overclock" at 1466) Could this works ?
You don't know until you have tried it. I got 12 gigs of ram now. 2 of my corsair died. Here is my ram setup: Kingston LoVo 2x2 1600 mhz and 2x4 corsair XMS3 1600 mhz. Working perfectly.
I got it to work as well, stable, the only problem was at the time that due to the poor AMD MC it couldn't handle Overclocking anymore, so i had to choose between disabling that to run with 24 Gb of ram, or go with just 16 Gb and the 4.6 Ghz OC.
I just had my own experience with it, trying to match up two slightly different ram sets with different timings. Didn't even want to boot at standard jedec specs (DDR4 2133 MHz). Needed a bios reflash to get it working afterwards, even with matching dimms this time.
