Ok, so to add to the title, as a strictly OS drive (128gb) in an MSI B350 motherboard, would there be any noticable difference in "real world" performance between them?
well IOPS (r/w) is a card specific attribute. if you buy a 1000MB read / 1000 MB write AHCI m.2 ssd then you'll get those speeds (we're talking sequential ofc) if you buy the same speeds as NVMe then you'll get those speeds, maybe some small improvement in random read behaviour. but if we get specific then you will have faster top end devices with NVMe than with AHCI. if you have the money to buy those top end modules. (top speeds nvme: ~5000MBs r / 3000MBs w, ahci: ~2800MBs r / 2200MBs w) but if you buy same specced modules it won't really make much difference if they are NVMe or AHCI in your "real world" performance. and ESPECIALLY in non-"real world" performance :nerd:
