I doubt they're selling at a loss, but it does explain why the Fury cards are so expensive.

That article said nothing, it's in short supply, why? Who knows....

Edit: seriously who actually learned anything from that article? I reread it four times just to make sure I didn't miss anything and I didn't, because there was nothing to miss..

All that article really said was that Fury X and Nano don't have custom SKU, said nothing what-so-ever why there are low yields, just that there are low yields... Complete rubbish of an article.

I am assuming there are low yields....Fury X's have been MIA for awhile....there is no way they are selling that fast.

They've been hoarding the chips for the Nano, thats why theres a decent supply of em.

hoarding chips that are actually selling,
(not terribly well, but enough to be out-of-stock)
in order to put them in card that does not sell at all.

    haha thats briliant

No reason to hoard if you have decent yields.

But I bet that since the Nano is in stock now, Fury X's will start showing up.

Seeing the Nano and the Fury being on stock, I kinda wonder if the bottleneck with the Fury X is the watercooler.

That's what it looks like, why sell a fury x with an expensive water cooler when you can sell a nano with a dinky cooler for the same price equating to more profit per card.

I got mine just fine(Fury). When I bought it they had 59 in stock. They currently have 56.

Edit:They also have 8 Sapphire Nanos in stock(I'm not checking everyone though)AND here the Nano costs MORE than the Fury X

Considering its size, cooler is doing pretty good job dissipation wise

    https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/AMD/R9_Nano/35.html

Not so much when it comes to noise signature. AMD needs to realize that not all 40dB are equal.

Then again 40dB coming out from physically smaller source will always have more of higher frequencies in its spectrum, than 40dB that gets emitted from bigger source.

I bet the Nano's cooler cost the same as the Fury X. May look dinky, but it is a dual vapor chamber and heat pipes. Fury X is based off an off the shelf AIO.

That is why I think it might be a yield issue. The Fury might be a card that was made to use the lower binned chips.

That is a great vid....Shows how well designed the cooler is. I mean, it was running at 1000 MHz, Fury non X speeds and keeping heat in check. Look at the Sapphire Fury's cooler compared to the Nano. Plus when running idle it drops the temp really fast.

Just saw the video, and it kinda sounds like one of those small remote controlled helicopters for kids.
