Well, a friend at work keeps talking about iRacing. Just curious if anyone here has tried it? They're adding my "home track" to it, so I was considering giving it a shot. Thoughts? Anyone?

it's ok. the content is too American for my liking. after seeing how much tracks and cars cost i decided not to play it and get addicted. didn't fancy spending hundreds of £££.

I run it. Its a great simulator.

If you like racing Simulations go for it, but if your a arcade racer you won't like it for the time and money you have to invest.

The membership is $12 a month, comes with a few cars and tracks, the rest of the tracks and cars range from (One time purchase fee) $11.99 to $14.99us. You buy them but you own the tracks and cars forever. Even if you cancel your subscription only to return months or even years later.

You'll need a decent wheel too. The cheaps ones aren't worth it, so prepare to spend $200 or better on a wheel.

There are other Pay per race simulations out there as well. Iracing is just one of them. Project cars, rfactor 2( soon, after its beta stages).

You have to be really into sim racing to justify getting iracing, otherwise skip it and try something else like rfactor 2 or Race 07 series. Something that doesn't require a membership if your not a sim racer, so if you don't like it you won't have much invested.
