Firstly, i did do a forum search and couldn't find anything on this forum about this mod.

It houses a multitude of enhancements, including higher polygon models, lighting mod, Sikkmod 1.2, HD texture packs, etc.

    Download it here: http://www.moddb.com/mods/absolutehd

Its a European server so yea you being in the US it will be that slow.

Just installed it my self and I STILL get the bug with this "all in one installer" that I did when installing Sikkmod manually.

Where by I get a plain white screen when enabling HDR.

Disabling HDR fixes that but then my graphics are all stretched, zoomed in, and jaggy.

Disabling each effect in Sikkmod options fixes SOME of this and straightens out the image a little.

For me its totally unplayable. I have no idea why, I ran this mod on my GTX480 perfectly. I am almost certain I ran it on my current AMD 7970 as well. But I have tried everything to get it to work.

Checked fov settings, resolution settings, monitor settings in config file.

I have done all the "fixes" that are mentioned like changing Catalyst A.I in regedit and deleting the POM folder.

    Nothing works.

Shame, oh well at least others can enjoy this mod though.

I was able to fix it on my Radeon system by renaming the D3 executable. Looks like CCC is loading some kind of profile/optimization even when Catalyst A.I. is disabled.
Hope it works for you too.

What did you rename the .exe to??

    EDIT:

I think I may have made a mistake when setting it up. Did I need to load up a level in Doom 3 (standard) version first before installing the mod? I know some mods need you to load the game up first and enter a level for them to work. I didn't do this.

Was just about uninstall and reinstall everything to try and see if this works but if you can just rename the .exe then awesome. But what did you rename it to?

    OMFG!

Renaming the .exe from DOOM3.exe to DOOM 3.exe (notice the space) and EVERYTHING works!!

    After ALL this time!!!

Damn it!! Now gonna blast on this, even though performance is abysmal. Turning everything on in SikkModd and it goes as well as 22fps turning off Soft Shadows gives a massive 10-15fps boost so I will blast through this with 30fps locked.

    EDIT:

Got it running smoothly now with everything on apart from soft shadows, performance ranges from 30-60fps mostly stays around the 45fps range. Very playable and look insanely good. The DOF and textures really make this game pop!

As you found out, you can rename it to basically anything that doesn't have a profile in CCC. Glad you got it sorted :)

Yes, the mod has a pretty big impact on performance. Yet Doom 3 looks gorgeous with it. Soft shadows are probably the thing to disable first for anybody running Sikkmod. Even on my SLi it destroys framerate (and it does on everything I've seen up to the GTX 980).

Enjoy your "new" Doom 3 mate !

Wow man, thanks for the info on this. I just downloaded and installed it. Sweet jeebus does it make the game look good. I can't believe I'm going to be playing through a game that's a decade old. :)

I'm still taking a huge hit with Soft shadows off!

Everything in this is preconfigured, so I like that I have a starting point at least for the visuals.

Why would you need to do this?
And if you do, why is it included in the mod pack?

Performance, it's included in the pack because all the options are included in the pack for you.

Even though you don't have a frame of reference because you haven't played it previously, to say that the game looks phenomenal with this mod would be a colossal understatement. It was WELL worth the download and it installed without a hitch.

Yes softshadows are perf. killer, also not optimized properly - gpu not having max usage.

Turn off SSAO and maybe change DOF to poison instead of gaussian?. And check if its has SSIL disabled (by SSAO section), also camera blur can be a bit perf. intense.

Sunshafts, lens flare can have some slowdowns too (both experimental).

I use this for Bloom and HDR and it looks ok, not to bright, etc.

    seta r_bloomGamma "0.9"
    seta r_bloomScale "0.4"
    seta r_bloomBlurScaleY "0.5"
    seta r_bloomBlurScaleX "0.5"
    seta r_bloomBlurIterations "2"
    seta r_bloomBufferSize "4"
    seta r_useBloom "1"

    seta r_hdrGlareSize "0.8"
    seta r_hdrGlareScale "1.0"
    seta r_hdrGlareStyle "8"
    seta r_hdrFlareSize "0.6"
    seta r_hdrFlareScale "1.0"
    seta r_hdrFlareGamma "2.3"
    seta r_hdrBloomSize "0.7"
    seta r_hdrBloomScale "0.3"
    seta r_hdrBloomOffset "3.0"
    seta r_hdrBloomThreshold "0.9"
    seta r_hdrBloomWhitePoint "1.00"
    seta r_hdrBloomMiddleGray "0.14"
    seta r_hdrBloomToneMapper "4"
    seta r_hdrLumThresholdMin "0.1"
    seta r_hdrLumThresholdMax "0.3"
    seta r_hdrDitherSize "1.0"
    seta r_hdrDither "0"
    seta r_hdrBlueShiftFactor "0.27"
    seta r_hdrWhitePoint "1.10"
    seta r_hdrMiddleGray "0.10"
    seta r_hdrAdaptationRate "60.0"
    seta r_hdrToneMapper "4"
    seta r_useHDR "1"

And driver TrAA - 2x or 4xSS is also a big perf. killer and makes very blurry image.
