First off im using HWmonitor for checking my temps.

Im using a arctic freezer pro rev.2 air cooler ( I know its not the best. )
Im also using AS5 paste and using the grain of rice method.

Mounting the cooler is not too difficult but how you mount it is kinda tricky and doesn't give a 100% guarantee flush mount.

    Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q56eVYAEB74 Skip too 1:35

Now the contact point is much smaller then the CPU itself, I was told it wasn't an issue as long as the contact point was over all the physical cpu's.

    My temps are:

    Cpu 1: 36c <--Full load 46c
Cpu 2: 40c <-- full load it gets too 55-56c
    Cpu 3: 29c <-- full load 40c

    Temps with stock cooler

    Cpu 1: 39c <-- Full load 60c
    Cpu 2: 36-37c <-- Full load 55-56c
    Cpu 3: 29-30c <-- full load 44-46c

If I can maintain a full load temp of 46c-50c all around ill be happy but for some reason no matter how many times I Re-Mount the cooler I cant get cpu 2 at or lower then cpu 1.

Now with the stock cooler I get a more all around accurate readings, since cpu 1 is the hottest and cpu 2 is mid and cpu 3 is lowest.

Should I try something different too mount it? or should I buy a new cooler. I do have some extra cash so I could buy maybe the EVO 212. Any suggestions to why my cpu 2 is always hotter with the aftermarket cpu cooler?

Hyper 212 evo is pretty nice for under 30 bucks on Newegg.

That CPU only has one sensor, the other is on the motherboard. What software are you using?

CoreTemp will give u a correct reading but not till about 40c, this is by design. For idle temps look at socket temperature.

In AIDA64 socket temp is "CPU" and die temp is "Core".

I use HWMonitor, I also have speedfan that I like to use. both softwares give me same temp readings. HWmonitor also gives me socket temp which says idle is 15c and load is 51c.

That more likely to be core temp unless you live in Antarctica. 51c is quite cool though so you're all good.

I guess it is pretty cold in MI atm so verify with CoreTemp and see if the readings are the same.....or post a screenshot.

    I downloaded aida64 for the 30day trial.

Currently running a stress test on the cpu and after 10 mins. CPU is at 48C

and cores 1-6 are at 39c

Update: now 15 mins into it and temps haven't changed, also im doing this with CS:GO minimized.

I don't think you have anything to worry about tbh. Even 60c is fine.

okay cool. Why does speed fan and HWMonitor read PHYSICAL core temps separately, when only there is 1 sensor for the cpu?

What does AIDA64 do that HWMonitor does not..?

Nope. Ive been using thos 2 softwares for a long time now, especially speedfan. Should I just trust AIDA64?

Yeah or else HWiNFO64 is another good one and free.

I just ran the latest HW Monitor 1.25 and it picks up CPU temps OK but most others don't show up... maybe the G46 board sensor chip isn't supported?

Your CPU #2 reading in HW Monitor is most likely the Northbridge.

Okay thanks a lot for all the help.

So with HWmonitor maybe the socket temp is correct, while the cpu 1 temp is for every processor and cpu 2 and cpu 3 are something totally different.
